YouTube Playlist – Waterfall Hikes

Waterfalls are the destination, but for me, the hike getting there is often just as rewarding.

Most of the waterfall hikes in this playlist are in Southern California, particularly around the Santa Clarita area. They are generally easy to moderate day hikes, including familiar destinations such as Whitney Canyon and Placerita Canyon.

Most Southern California waterfalls are seasonal, and their conditions can change dramatically depending on rainfall, temperature, and the time of year. A waterfall that is roaring after a wet winter may be little more than a trickle during a dry season — and sometimes may disappear entirely.

But that doesn’t necessarily make the hike less worthwhile.

What I enjoy about these trips is the entire experience: the trail, the scenery, the changing landscape, and the opportunity to spend time in nature. The waterfall is often the big payoff at the end, but the hike itself is part of the reward.

This playlist is about enjoying those journeys rather than simply chasing spectacular waterfalls. Even when the falls aren’t flowing at their strongest, the trails can still be beautiful places to explore.
