YouTube Playlist – Descanso Gardens Botanical Garden

Sometimes you don’t have to leave Los Angeles to find a place where you can slow down, reconnect with nature, and simply unplug for a while.

Descanso Gardens, in La Cañada Flintridge just outside Los Angeles, is one of my favorite places to do exactly that. Surrounded by a busy city and everyday life, the gardens feel like a completely different world once you step inside.

I’ve visited Descanso Gardens many, many times and in different seasons, and one of the things I love most is that it never looks quite the same twice. The light changes, the colors change, different plants come into bloom, and the atmosphere of the gardens shifts throughout the year. As someone who enjoys photography, that constantly changing landscape is a big part of what keeps bringing me back.

The videos in this playlist take you on leisurely walks through the gardens, exploring the different landscapes and enjoying the peaceful environment rather than treating the visit as a formal garden tour. I generally walk the entire garden, taking in everything from developed gardens to the more natural areas along the way.

Descanso Gardens is a reminder that experiencing nature doesn’t always require a road trip or a long hike. Even in the middle of a busy metropolitan area, there are places where you can slow down, breathe, observe the changing seasons, and spend a little time away from the noise of everyday life.

If you’re looking for things to do in nature, in Los Angeles, or plan a visit to a botanical garden in Southern California, come along for a walk through Descanso Gardens.
