YouTube Playlist – March 2025 Baja Roadtrip

In March 2025, I spent a month road-tripping through Baja California and Baja California Sur with a travel companion, camping and exploring our way through the peninsula.

This wasn’t a trip about rushing from one major destination to the next. Having an entire month gave us the freedom to slow down, spend time in places we loved, and venture deeper into the interior of the peninsula — including some of the smaller and more remote communities that are easy to miss on a shorter Baja road trip.

Most of the trip was spent camping and boondocking, with only occasional nights in hotels. Along the way we explored beaches, deserts, mountains, historic towns, missions, oases, small communities, ghost towns, and some of the lesser-known corners of Baja.

Agua Verde was one of the biggest highlights. It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful place in Baja I have ever visited. We also discovered places in the interior that quickly became personal favorites, including La Purísima and San Miguel de Comondú.

La Purísima in particular left a lasting impression on me. This small oasis town has a haunting, forgotten quality that makes you want to slow down and explore its history and surroundings more extensively. It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you’ve left — and one I hope to explore much more of it on a future trip.

The month also gave us plenty of opportunities to meet people, experience everyday life in Baja, discover places we hadn’t planned on visiting, and see just how much there is beyond the peninsula’s best-known tourist destinations.

This playlist follows that month-long Baja road trip from the road, campsite, and places we explored along the way.

If you’re planning a long Baja road trip, interested in Baja California and Baja California Sur, looking for camping and boondocking ideas, or simply want to see what becomes possible when you have enough time to slow down and explore, come along for the journey.
