I’ve had my BUZIO 1-gallon water bottle for at least five years now, and it has become one of those pieces of gear that I don’t really think about anymore.
It just comes with me.
Hiking? It goes in the vehicle.
Road trip? It goes with me.
Camping? Absolutely.
And after five years of being dragged through all kinds of adventures, it is still going strong.
That, more than anything, is why I wanted to write this review.
I Use This Bottle a Lot
I bought the BUZIO because I wanted a large water bottle that could handle being used outdoors. A gallon of water is obviously a lot to carry on a hike, so this isn’t something I normally want to carry around on my back all day.
But for road trips, camping, and as a water supply at the trailhead, a gallon bottle is incredibly useful.
I’ve used this bottle on countless road trips and hikes, and it has spent plenty of time bouncing around in my vehicle.
It’s also been used at home and around camp.
After years of that kind of use, the bottle itself has held up remarkably well.
This Thing Is Sturdy
The biggest thing I like about the BUZIO is how sturdy it is.
I am not particularly gentle with my outdoor gear. If something comes with me on a Baja road trip or gets thrown into the 4Runner, it is going to get used.
This bottle has been through rough terrain, camping trips, and plenty of general abuse.
The bottle itself has never given me a reason to worry about it.
That’s important with something as simple as a water bottle. I don’t want to have to baby it.
It Actually Keeps Water Cold
The other thing that has consistently impressed me is the insulation.
I’ve forgotten this bottle inside my vehicle on sunny California days, and when I’ve found it again, the water has still been cool.
In some cases, it has stayed cool for days.
That is one of those features that sounds nice when you’re looking at a product listing, but becomes much more valuable when you’re actually traveling.
If you’re heading out for a long road trip, having a large supply of cold water waiting for you is pretty great.
The Neoprene Cover Has Taken a Beating
If there’s one part of the bottle that has suffered over the years, it’s the neoprene cover.
But honestly, I don’t think that’s really the bottle’s fault.
I’ve abused this thing.
I’ve taken it through rough terrain, thrown it into camping gear, and even managed to burn part of the neoprene cover while sitting around a campfire.
So yes, the cover has some battle scars.
The bottle itself, however, has continued to do its job.
At this point, I almost think the beat-up cover adds some character.
No Problems With Leaks or the Lid
After five-plus years of use, I haven’t had problems with leaking.
I also haven’t had issues with the lid or straw.
That’s worth mentioning because these are the kinds of things that can turn a good bottle into an annoying one over time.
I haven’t experienced that with mine.
Would I Buy It Again?
Absolutely.
After at least five years of using this bottle on hikes, road trips, camping trips, and everyday life, I have no hesitation saying that I’d buy another one.
The bottle is sturdy, it keeps water cold, and it has survived a lot of abuse.
The neoprene cover has definitely seen better days, but considering what I’ve put it through, I’m not complaining.
For me, this has become one of those pieces of gear that simply works.
And after five years, that’s about the best review I can give it.
Final Thoughts
I don’t think every piece of outdoor gear needs to be complicated.
Sometimes you just need something that works, survives being thrown in the vehicle, and is still there doing its job years later.
That’s what the BUZIO 1-gallon water bottle has been for me.
I’ve used it on practically every kind of trip I take, and five years later, I’m still using the same bottle.
Would I buy it again? 100%.
