Solo Camping for Women: I’m Now a Contributor to Camping for Women!

Solo camping for women isn’t just about pitching a tent — it’s about building independence, resilience, and confidence. If you’re new to camping or a seasoned road tripper, solo time in nature can be an incredible source of personal growth. For me, it became a core part of my healing journey. The freedom I found through solo adventures inspired me to focus on Miles and Hikes — and it’s why I’m so passionate about helping other women step into this space safely and confidently.

About Camping for Women — And Why I Chose to Write for Them
But let’s be real: solo camping for womwen can feel intimidating at first. Questions about safety, gear, and mindset are common — and totally normal. That’s why I created resources like my Day Hike Packing List and my Baja Road Trip Essentials: My Packing And Prep Guide, and why I was excited to share my insights with a wider audience through Camping for Women.
About Camping for Women
If you’re not familiar yet, Camping for Women is an amazing global platform dedicated to empowering women in outdoor spaces. They publish articles, how-tos, and gear reviews written by women, for women — with a focus on safety, skills, and confidence building, and fantastic articles on solo camping for women.
Their mission aligns perfectly with what we’re all about here at Miles and Hikes: helping more women enjoy freedom, adventure, and nature on their own terms.
Why I Wrote for Them
I approached Camping for Women about contributing, because I knew exactly what I wanted my first piece to be: a practical, no-nonsense guide to staying safe and confident while solo camping for women.
As many of you know, solo camping has been a huge part of my healing and growth journey (you can read more about that in my personal story). But I also know that the idea of going it alone can feel intimidating — especially for first-timers.
That’s why I wrote:
The Ultimate Solo Camping Safety and Confidence Guide for Women
It’s packed with tips to help you prepare, set boundaries, stay aware, and most importantly — trust yourself out there.
What’s Next
This is just the beginning! I’ll be contributing more articles to Camping for Women soon, covering topics like:

As I continue to contribute to Camping for Women and expand the resources here on Miles and Hikes, my goal is simple: help more women feel empowered to explore the outdoors on their own terms. Whether it’s your first solo camping trip or your fiftieth, I want you to feel equipped, inspired, and supported every step of the way.
