We Found a Hidden Indigenous Village Deep in the Baja Desert
We went back to El Alamo—an abandoned gold rush town from the 1800s in Baja California. Last time, we explored the old mill and mine (watch the full playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Weql2v7nLsU&list=PLGBfZJB3fcq9OsHQT2ZkrLeje6NKEti9x), but this time we had a different mission: to search for minerals.
We found a few cool ones… but what we really discovered was far more unexpected.
Out in the middle of the desert, we stumbled upon off-road racers practicing for the world-famous Baja 500—dust flying, engines roaring, pure adrenaline. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any wilder, we came across a mysteriously well-maintained paved road in the middle of nowhere that led us straight to the indigenous Pai Pai community of Santa Catarina.
This remote town felt like stepping into living history, complete with an abandoned church that was surprisingly fun (and eerie) to explore.
