Los Angeles, California Adventures: Real Stories and Scenic Trails
Hiking Trails Across Los Angeles
Welcome to the Los Angeles Blog—a collection of real-world adventures through the trails and parks of the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita. If you’re looking for scenic hiking routes, peaceful nature escapes, and down-to-earth travel inspiration close to Los Angeles, you’re in the right place.
Every post on this blog is tied to a YouTube video documenting my hike or outdoor experience in Los Angeles. You’ll also find an interactive map button in each post, allowing you to view the exact spot I explored—whether it’s a shaded trail in Santa Clarita or a lakeside walk in the Valley. It’s like a local’s guide to hiking in SoCal, from someone who’s walked these trails firsthand.
This blog is especially for day hikers, beginners, and nature lovers who may not be able to drive hours to feel immersed in the outdoors. Many of the featured trails are within a short drive from city life but still offer a true sense of escape. I’ve filmed and documented a wide range of trails that are perfect for morning walks, weekend getaways, or even solo hikes to reset and recharge.
In the San Fernando Valley, one of my favorite peaceful spots is Balboa Lake. Surrounded by open green space and views of the nearby mountains, it’s a relaxing spot for an easy walk or picnic.
If you’re up for more elevation and natural scenery, head a bit north of Los Angeles to Santa Clarita, where places like Placerita Canyon and Whitney Canyon offer miles of trails winding through oak woodlands, seasonal streams, and mountain vistas. These trails are rich in views and biodiversity, and they’re perfect for hikers of all levels—ideal for anyone looking to avoid the busy Los Angeles trail scene.
I regularly hike at spots near Sylmar, Newhall, and Granada Hills. These areas are underrated hikes for anyone who craves a mix of open space, wildlife, and peace without the heavy foot traffic of more popular Los Angeles trails.
Subscribe to my YouTube channel or bookmark this page to stay in the loop—I’m always adding new trail content, especially as I explore more hidden trails and nature preserves around Los Angeles.
So go ahead—browse the posts, watch a video, click the map, and lace up your hiking boots. The San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita are full of surprises, and I’m here to help you discover them, one step at a time.
