That’s exactly what happened to us on what was supposed to be a calm day of fishing—but turned into a wild adventure packed with crazy waves, hidden fossils, unexpected wildlife, and even abandoned structures straight out of a movie.
Like many weekend adventurers, we set out early in search of that elusive, peaceful shoreline—the kind where the fish are biting, the breeze is cool, and the worries disappear. But nature had other plans. As we approached the coast, we were met by massive waves. Not your average surf—we’re talking borderline tidal chaos.
From Fishing to Full-Blown Adventure
With the fishing spot inaccessible, we decided to explore the surrounding cliffs and coastal terrain—and that’s when things got interesting. Not far from where the waves crashed, we discovered:
- Fossil beds embedded in rocky outcrops—millions (?) of years old, just lying in the open.
- Snakes slithering through the underbrush, reminding us that we weren’t alone out there.
- Abandoned structures, likely remnants of old lookout posts or fishing shacks, weathered but eerily beautiful.
