Hello Outdoor Lovers & Roadtrip Fanatics!
I’m Alejandra, although most people in the USA have always called me “Alex”.
I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Growing up, we spent most summers loading up our Ford green station wagon car (very 80’s, I know!) and roadtripping from Bs. As. to Patagonia (about 1000 miles) and exploring the gorgeous lakes and mountains all around it.
But it was only after a European adventure in 2001 where I went on a solo trip to France, Belgium and Ireland, that I permanently caught the travel bug!
A year later, by 2002, at the age of 25 and feeling restless, I packed my bags and headed to California, where I instantly fell in love with the weather (goodbye Bs. As. humidity!) and the diverse landscapes within a couple hours reach: from beaches to mountains and deserts.
My YouTube journey started after a solo cross-country road trip from Los Angeles to Georgia, and back. I dreamed up what would eventually become my channel on the long drive back home. With no videography or editing background, I decided to still launch Miles and Hikes and learn on the go. The name sums up my two greatest loves: the miles I log on the road, and the hikes I take in the great outdoors, my happy place!
I also work a stressful full-time job in the software industry, so having a creative outlet like my channel is essential. Not only does it give me a chance to express myself in a creative way, but it also naturally takes me outdoors and helps me disconnect from the daily grind.
Join me as I explore new places, share stories from the road, and embrace the adventure of life in the great outdoors.
